Derrik Alexander Cooper, Jr. is a native of Camden New Jersey. He is the eldest of five children of Derrik & Roberta Cooper, Sr.  He was raised in a Christian home, a 3rd generation Pentecostal preacher tracing back to his grandfather, the late Windsor A. Cooper, and his father Derrik A. Cooper Sr. As a Child Derrik’s father recognized his interest, love, and passion for piano/organ and prayed that God would give him a gift to play. His Father exposed him to great men of God such as R.W Schambach which further extended the love and passion for God’s anointing.

 

After relocating to the metropolitan Atlanta area from New Jersey in 1986, Derrik Cooper continued with his love for music and in 1991, he became a part of the music ministry of Keith Brooks and New Creation, which he served as Music Director for over 10 years. In those years he has written, arranged, and produced three recording projects for the New Creation music ministry.

 

God has allowed Pastor Cooper to see the world, share his musical gifts, record,  travel, and play with some of the most prominent artists in the Gospel Music Industry such as Donnie McClurkin, Kurt Carr & the Kurt Carr Singers, Dottie Peoples, Georgia Mass Choir, Angella Christie, Dorothy Norwood, LaShun Pace, the Anointed Pace Sisters, Pastor Murphy Pace and he Voices Of Power, Earnest Pugh, Norman Hutchins, and the (HSTS) How Sweet The Sound Winners, Atlanta-West Pentecostal Choir, just to name a few.

 

In 2001, after attending All Nations Church of God and helping in the Youth and Music ministries, Pastor Cooper placed his membership there under the leadership of the late Bishop George Hoke, who he found great favor with.  He received his Minister’s License at All Nations, where he served as Minister of Music, Youth Pastor, and was elevated to Assistant Pastor.  He presently serves as the Musical Director at Berean Christian Church, with Pastor Kerwin Lee.

 

Derrik Cooper accepted the call to Evangelism, with the desire and passion to see souls saved, set free and delivered.  In November of 2002, one result of this passion, through, was the birth of Power Generation Ministries – an outreach ministry, with the goal of bringing together people from across metro Atlanta in a power-packed, energy-filled, anointed Praise & Worship experience!  Through Power Generation Ministries, many souls have saved, delivered, and set free. And after much prayer, guidance by God and faithful diligence through the years to Power Generation Ministries, in November 2010, THE POWER CHURCH was birthed and started having services two Sundays a month. In May of 2011 being led by the Holy Spirit The Power Church was officially launched and started services every Sunday at 5pm in SW Atlanta Ga. Under the leadership of Derrik Cooper The Power Church is a progressive, revelant ministry that upholds Godly principles and extends Gods love and grace to every individual, no matter where they are, and who they are.

 

Pastor Derrik Cooper possesses the spirit of excellence as a humble servant leader in the Kingdom of God, to glorify the name of Jesus Christ.  He stands confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in him will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ!
